We’re proud to support borrowers who take on the challenge of revitalizing neighborhoods.
In our series, “Developing Stories,” read about some of these borrowers and their experiences.
Dan’s a man who wears many hats—title company president, real estate attorney, and real estate developer.
It all started his senior year of college when Dan was bored with his majors and started an “independent study” in real estate investing. Once he left college and got his first job in Baltimore, he put his academic inquiry to use, buying a three unit building in the Hampden neighborhood and living in one while renting the others.
Fast forward a few more years and Dan had put himself through law school and founded a title company, all the while picking up additional investment properties here and there as deals presented themselves. He focused on just a few neighborhoods, preferring to invest in communities he knew well and where he had a real stake.
Spring Garden Lending had been on Dan’s radar for years hearing about the company from many of his real estate connections. When he needed construction financing on a row house he owned, he knew just where to turn saying, “Pete is outstanding. He is the rare loan officer who comes to a closing with all his ducks in order— organized, knowledgeable and helpful. Let’s see how this goes—I could be tempted to buy more!”
