HOW A CHANCE CONNECTION SPARKED JEFF'S BIGGEST INVESTMENT YET

Borrower Stories | Baltimore, MD | November 2024

We’re proud to support borrowers who take on the challenge of revitalizing neighborhoods.

In our series, “Developing Stories,” read about some of these borrowers and their experiences.

Jeff is an investor/developer as well as a commercial real estate agent, and first met Spring Garden Capital Group’s Greg Goldstein in 2019 when Greg was on the hunt for office space. They didn’t wind up working together then, so Jeff tossed Greg’s card in a drawer.

Fast forward a couple of years, and Jeff found himself digging around in that drawer. An experienced investor, he had flipped more than 50 houses, all self-financed. But his latest project was a little bigger than usual—two side-by-side homes in NW Baltimore’s Forest Park neighborhood. It was time for financing, so he called Greg, who introduced him in turn to Baltimore-based SVP Pete Pecoraro.

They closed the deal a few weeks later, and the project is now well underway.  “Working with Pete has been excellent. He’s knowledgeable and has made the whole process easy. He’s teaching me how to work with lenders. I’m looking forward to a long-term relationship with Spring Garden Lending!”
