Entrepreneurship runs deep for this husband-and-wife dynamic duo.

Carlos began his career as a project manager for a large construction firm, eventually building his skillset to become a licensed general contractor and establish his own firm in 2007. Meanwhile his wife, Maylin, was growing a 100-person Mary Kay sales team. In 2020, the pandemic and the birth of their child caused them to reimagine their future—what if they approached real estate as partners?

Maylin dove in headfirst. She took courses, found a mentor, and completed her first flip in 2022 with a solid ROI. That win gave her the confidence to take on bigger projects in the high-end DC market. In addition to their own investment projects, together they vertically integrated to provide outside clients with construction, project management, and design services.

In 2024, Carlos met Sarah Massey, VP at Spring Garden Lending. He came home and said, “We should call Sarah!” As Maylin puts it: “It was love at first sight! Meeting Sarah—it was so new to me to have a lender be so responsive and knowledgeable. She has a great way of connecting.”

The couple’s first deals with us demonstrate their range, including a ground-up single-family home in Fairfax County and a gut renovation of a single-family home in the Kingman Park neighborhood of Washington, DC. Reflecting on their most recent project, Sarah says, “It’s energizing to see Maylin’s passion for beauty and Carlos’s commitment to quality as it shines through in their work.”
